Last night’s plan to go and watch Casino Royale up at the castle (outdoor cinema, part of the Ljubljana festival) was quite spectacularly interrupted by the most dramatic thunderstorm. Sudden gusts toppled sun umbrellas and cleared the cafés, the sky went black and the thunder raged. After a while the clouds rolled away to the East, letting the last rays of bright light in before sunset.

Eilisillan sunnitelman Bond-leffasta linnanmäellä (ulkoilmaleffat ovat osa jokakesäistä Ljubljana festivaalia) pysäytti kesän järisyttävin ukkonen. Tuuli nousi hetkessä niin raivokkaaksi että ulkokahviloiden aurinkovarjot lähtivät kirjaimellisesti läpyttelemään, pilvet tummenivat aika tuimaksi ja sitten jyrisi! Aikansa salamoituaan ja karjuttuaan taivas heltyi, ukkospilvet loittonivat itään ja päivän viimeiset auringonsäteet pääsivät vielä kirkastamaan iltaa.

Back to +30c tomorrow, apparently. Nevermind. Z and Sandra are coming over for a visit so we’re off to the Alps for a long weekend; hopefully cooler in the mountains.

Säätiedotus lupaa että huomenna palaamme ainakin +30c lukemiin, mutta ei se mitään sillä Z ja Sandra ovat tulossa kylään ja siirrymme pitkäksi viikonlopuksi Alpeille. Vuorilla lienee viileämpää.
