We’ve seen our first Christmas decorations in the last couple of days, and over lunch today we had to endure the restaurant’s idiotic life-sized singing Santa - so we’re not going to miss Christmas completely, but it’s going to be different!

We’re leaving Luang Prabang early tomorrow morning, having come up from Vientiane via Vang Vieng and the Plain of Jars (see photo albums). Christmas will be spent in some remote town by the Chinese border but we do have a packet of chewy choc fudge Tim Tams with which to celebrate, and they’re only 8 months past their best-before date!
